OM AT HOME...

You might remember that day during your pregnancy when you woke up and all of a sudden you were too big to do anything.

Too big to put on your own shoes, climb stairs, cross your legs…breathe. Right around that time is when prenatal yoga becomes your best friend - hip openers, squats, back bends, focusing in on that ever elusive breath and savasana aka my favorite aka an excuse to lay down.

YOU SHOULD DO IT!  We all know we should…but, but but

- My husband has the car
- I'm on bed rest
- I've never done yoga before
- That would require me to put clothes on that fit

No one else can make time for you .

Once you've had your beautiful bundle of joy and kissed them endlessly, gazed longingly into their eyes, fallen asleep while breast feeding and started your recovery from the worst birthday party ever (also known as labor...was there even cake!?!) you start to think...I should do something about this baby weight; I'm giving myself until [insert unrealistic timeframe here] :

- I get back to the office
- My mother visits
- Summertime
- Baby's 1st birthday

Yes still focused on that breath you have not been able to catch since you we're 7 months pregnant, but now it'll be because you're too busy doing the post partum mood swing laugh/ cry, while wondering which bodily fluid is staining your pajama uniform (breast milk, pee, poop, spit up...who knew there were so many).

Use your hour to sink into some really deep warrior poses.

Or to focus on pelvic floor exercises to combat incontinence...if you are not incontinent don't worry about this suggestion and don't look it up!!

Use your hour to close the door and take an OM Mom-ent.
